Our wellness hotels awarded with a Green Key Gold certificate

Last week, our colleagues at Thermen Bussloo, Thermen Bad Nieuweschans, and Thermen Berendonck were proud to receive (once again) the Green Key Gold certificate for all our wellness hotels.

The Green Key certification demonstrates our commitment to operating in the most environmentally conscious and sustainable manner possible, without compromising on comfort and quality for our guests. At Thermen Resorts, we believe that operating with a focus on people and the environment is not a choice, but a requirement. “The renewal of our Green Key Gold certificate is the crowning glory of the work of all employees who are committed to our resorts and hotels every day,” says Fabian Dolman, general manager of Thermen Resorts.

About Green Key

Green Key is the international quality mark for sustainable businesses in the recreation and leisure industry and the business market. Businesses with a Green Key quality mark do everything they can to protect the environment. In doing so, they go a step further than normal laws and regulations require. Green Key has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The more sustainability measures a company implements, the more sustainability standards it achieves, and the higher its Green Key level.

The Green Key organization also has the national label “Sustainable Hospitality” for the leisure sector in the Netherlands. The three Thermen Resorts locations without hotels have once again been awarded the gold classification ‘Sustainable Hospitality’ for their thermal baths for 2026. Fabian: “Our own Green Key team keeps us focused on sustainability requirements and helps us think about how we can always (continue to) improve.”

Duurzame initiatieven binnen onze resorts

Elke dag zet Thermen Resorts zich in voor een duurzamere wereld: voor gasten, de medewerkers en de generaties na ons. Een paar voorbeelden van onze stappen op weg naar een 100% duurzame wellnessbeleving:

Veel van onze resorts zijn ‘all-electric, oftewel volledig gasloos en met 100% duurzame energie. We hebben eigen moestuinen, waterbronnen, laadpalen, onze daken liggen vol met zonnepanelen én we zetten in op slimme, duurzame technieken. Met warmtepompen, warmte-terugwinning en energiezuinige ledverlichting beperken we ons energieverbruik. Ook gaan we bewust om met water door hergebruik van warmte en waterbesparende voorzieningen én kunnen we slimmer omgaan met onze energie door

onze energiebuffers. Hiermee kunnen we volledig duurzaam opgewerkte energie inzetten op de momenten dat het nodig is.

Ook kun je met een gerust hart genieten van onze menukaart, met veel heerlijke vegetarische opties, biologische producten, ingrediënten van eigen land én samenwerkingen met lokale ondernemers.
